The Neo Geo Pocket, the monochrome handheld by SNK, was outdated by the newer Color version not even six months after the original release.
This amazing little handheld had a fantastic battery life, great sound, and microswitches for the directional pad, making it surprisingly tight gameplay-wise. Too bad the damned thing didn't have a backlight, though!
While there wasn't a huge library of games released for it (only 9 total games total for this original monochrome version), there were certainly some exclusive gems to be enjoyed. This included tiny (but incredibly responsive) ports of some of the best fighting game franchises around.
